Free movie screening at Woodhaven Library


This afternoon, the Woodhaven Library will host a free screening of the 2017 film, “The Big Sick.”
In the film, Pakistan-born comedian Kumail Nanjiani and grad student Emily Gardner fall in love but struggle as their cultures clash. When Emily contracts a mysterious illness, Kumail finds himself forced to face her feisty parents, his family’s expectations, and his true feelings. The film, one of the highest-grossing independent films of 2017, is loosely based on actual events from the couple’s lives.
The movie will be screened between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Woodhaven Library is located at 85-41 Forest Parkway.
Light snacks will be provided but you can also bring your own.
