Here’s what’s happening at Woodhaven Library this week

The Woodhaven branch of Queens Library has events scheduled all week for everyone, it doesn’t matter what age! From an open mic for kids aged 8 and up to game days intended for the entire family, you are sure to find an excuse to take a trip to your neighborhood’s library. Here’s what’s happening:

  • 4/29:
    • 6 to 7 p.m. – Open Mic for ages 8 and up to share poetry, songs, thoughts, stories or just come to listen?
  • 4/30:
    • 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Toddler Learning Center open to young children ages 18-38 months. Parents can learn about nutrition, speech development, parenting skills and more.
    • 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Kickoff to Kindergarten: Advanced class for parents and caregivers of children that need help learning the skills to be successful to start kindergarten! Customers are required to attend all sessions to attend this one.
  • 5/1:
    • 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Toddler Music for songs, creative moments, instruments and a simple craft for ages 1 to 3.
    • 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. – Mommy or Daddy and Me for stories, simple rhymes and songs followed by free play for infants and caregivers.
    • 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Basic Guitar Lessons for ages 6-12. Guitars are available with a library card and preregistration is required! Customers are required to attend all sessions to attend this one.
  • 5/2:
    • 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. – Movie night for the entire family! This week’s screening is 2018’s “Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse”.
    • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Shape Up NYC presents Zumba for Adults. First come, first serve basis.
  • 5/3:
    • 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Toddler Time for ages 1-3.
    • 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Game Day for the entire family!
  • 5/4:
    • 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. – Saturday Mommy or Daddy And Me with stories, simple rhymes and songs followed by free play for infants and their caregivers.
    • 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Storytime including an interactive adventure into the abyss of imagination for kids ages 3-8.
    • 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Autism in Spanish instructed by Juan Carlos Valderrama.
    • 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. – The Hour of Misfit Crafts intended for kids ages 6-12 to make a craft from the fourth dimension and beyond.
